Here you will find information detailing various projects and work experiences. To ensure accurate documentation, links and screenshots are included where possible.

Creative Bastards Magazine

Creative Bastards Magazine is a project I produced collaboratively with fellow NTU students and international creatives. The first issue was released in November 2022, both in print and online. This project provided many opportunities for development, such as:

  • Communicating effectively with submittors and editors
  • Writing copy for the Editorial and Website
  • Managing and Producing content for social media
  • Learning to design an inviting publication and user-friendly website
  • Learning Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Adobe Express

Creative Bastards Magazine is an ongoing project. I hope to produce more issues in future, adhering to the founding aim: to help writers and editors build experience in publishing.

Find out more on Instagram. Both issues are available through Google Drive here and here.

Nottingham Creative Writing Hub

I curated a blog post detailing the experience gained from my degree and its application to an independent project. This experience prompted me to:

  • Research previous posts to match the tone and style of the publication
  • Engage with criticism and suggestions during the editing process

You can find my entry to Nottingham Creative Writing Hub’s webpage here.

Kairos and STEM: Little Magazines

On my degree, I achieved a First in the module ‘Little Magazines; Concept to Dissemination’, where I worked collaboratively on Kairos and STEM magazines. As Editor-In-Chief, I guided the Kairos team through the necessary steps, arranged meetings, and communicated effectively to ensure our finished product showcased our submittors best work.

I also contributed the short fiction piece, ‘Indecision’, to STEM magazine. I took their edits and suggestions on board and was pleased with the finished product.

You can access the PDF of both magazines via the Google Drive links below.

Land of Hope and Toil, Literary Conference

I acted as a point of contact for students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia, Canada, on the International Liaison Team during the production of the Land of Hope and Toil conference and literary magazine. I communicated with in-house teams to clarify project criteria and ensure submission handover and response.

I also presented an analysis of The Moon of the Crusted Snow, a post-apocalyptic, thriller novel by Waubgeshig Rice, focussing on spiritual and traditional practices and colonial history.

A recording of the conference is available via YouTube, here.

YouTube

In 2024, I created a YouTube channel to better engage and interact with readers, writers, and the bookish community (colloquially known as BookTube).

You can find my YouTube channel here.
